Root Cellars Rock is creating a free kit of 8 food skills workshops that are getting their grand debut in the Spring! These workshops are a training tool that community groups across NL will be able to use to build food skills where they live. We need your help! We're looking for photos to use to make the materials look spiffy and to help people understand the topics better. Below is a list of the 8 workshop topics. Any photos you can share with us are hugely appreciated. Send photos to info@rootcellarsrock.ca.
We're looking for pictures related to:
- Container gardening
- Composting & vermicomposting
- Seed saving
- Edible wild plants*
- Preparing local vegetables
- Using culinary herbs**
- Canning & pickling
- Root cellars and cold storage
*In particular pictures of the plants and uses for: roses and rosehips, dandelions, lambsquarters, partridgeberries, Japanese knotweed, blueberries, cattails, wild mint, Labrador tea, and wintercress
**In particular pictures of the plants and uses for: basil, chives, cilantro, dill, garlic, mint, oregano, parsley, sage, summer savoury, thyme
Your name (or your group's) will be credited in the workshop materials and we'll be doing a follow-up post to showcase some of the contributions and say a big thank you. If you have taken photos as part of a business and are willing to donate them, we're glad to include your logo and contact information as well.
