Food First NL’s mission is to advance everyone’s right to food in Newfoundland and Labrador. But we can’t do it alone.
Here are three ways you can get involved:
Take Action in Your Region
Attend our regional food action meetings to learn more about opportunities in your region and connect with like-minded folks. The meetings are open to anyone interested in advancing the right to food. Visit our Regional Food Animators webpage to learn more.
Our Local Programs Map also lists many fantastic organizations and community groups doing important work around the province. Many of these groups welcome new volunteers or have other opportunities to get involved.
Donate
Food First NL accepts monetary donations to advance our work. However, we cannot issue a tax receipt because we are not a registered charity or other qualified donee.
If you want to donate to our work and do not require a tax receipt, email our CEO, Josh Smee, at josh@foodfirstnl.ca.
If you want to donate and require a tax receipt for your donation, we suggest contributing to the Indigenous Food Research Graduate Bursary Endowment Fund at Memorial University. You can learn more about the bursary and contribute on their webpage.
