Join Food Security Network NL (FSN) and Farm to Cafeteria Canada for this exciting free in-person presentation and teleconference about the growing Farm to School movement across Canada and ways to advance Farm to School in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Farm to School programs enrich the connections between the school community and nearby farmers, fishers, hunters and harvesters in order to bring more healthy, local, and sustainable foods into schools. Farm to School programs aim to improve student nutrition, and to increase local food literacy among children and school communities, while contributing to the establishment of strong, resilient, and sustainable regional food systems.
FSN has teamed up with Farm to Cafeteria Canada to offer this introduction presentation with the goal to raise provincial awareness and excitement. Across Canada amazing work is happening that can provide inspiration and there are opportunities on the horizon for NL to advance our own Farm to School activities.
