Pass it on! There are two great new resources available now to help you find your local farmers! With the growing season on its way, Root Cellars Rock is very excited to be sharing these with you so that you can make new local food connections all year.

Buy Local! Buy Fresh! Avalon Region Map

Brought to you by the four Regional Economic Development Zone Boards on the Avalon, this printed map showcases 25 Avalon area local producers, letting consumers know where, when, and how to get their local products. It also highlights community gardens, farmers' markets, local food related events happening in the next year, and information on what foods are in season when. The Food Security Network is proud to have been on the committee for the Map and Root Cellars Rock! is highlighted in it. Check out NEA REDB's website to find out where to pick up your printed copy of the map. Distribution has just started, so keep checking back to the site as more locations are added near you.

Update: The Buy Local! Buy Fresh! Avalon Region Map has a new home on the internet where you can find the latest listings: avalonfresh.ca

The Department of Natural Resources-Agrifoods partnered with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada to create this excellent guide for finding local farms all across Newfoundland and Labrador. 81 producers are listed throughout the province, broken down into region and community, and the Farm Guide highlights the NL agricultural industry, products, farm locations and how/where to purchase local agricultural goods.

Look for print copies of the Farm Guide at upcoming festivals and events where Agrifoods has their booth and at more locations to be announced soon, or check out the pdf version of the Newfoundland and Labrador Farm Guide today!
