With our short growing season and cool climate, many gardeners find themselves stuck on what to grow and how to get more from their gardens. This teleconference is a great opportunity for community garden organizers and participants to learn from an experienced Newfoundland gardener and horticultural consultant, Ross Traverse. Ross will give a short presentation on the following topics, followed by a question and answer session:
- Getting the most out of our growing season in Newfoundland and Labrador
- Cold frames and row covers
- Other methods for season extension

About the presenter:
Ross Traverse is the owner and operator of Traverse Gardens in Torbay, NL. He is a professional horticultural consultant with over forty years of experience with the industry in Newfoundland and Labrador, including twenty-five years of television and radio broadcasting. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from McGill University and a Master of Science degree in plant nutrition and horticultural extension from the University of Guelph. Ross is the author of “Ask Ross Traverse About Gardening: Practical Advice for Gardeners in a Cool Climate“.
