After 10 years as Executive Director of Food First NL, I am excited to announce that in September I will be leaving the organization to pursue a Master of Public Policy at the University of Oxford.

It has been a great honour to be Executive Director of Food First NL -- to be at the helm of such a dynamic organization, and to have the opportunity to work closely with so many talented, passionate, and committed people from across the province.

We’ve accomplished a great deal over the last decade, and the time feels right to pass the torch to a new leader to steward the organization into its next chapter.

Food First NL is a remarkable organization, leading important work in this province, and with lots of opportunity for growth.

My sincere thanks is owed to the incredible staff, board members, and partners, of present and past, that make this organization so strong, for all their brilliance, hard work, and dedication.  I’ve learned so much from all of you and it has been an absolute privilege to work with such a remarkable team and network of people.

I look forward to watching, and cheering from the sidelines, as Food First NL embarks on its next chapter.

Looking Forward to Our Next Chapter

A message from Eleanor Swanson, Chair, Board of Directors

Through ten years of dedicated leadership to Food First NL, Kristie has played a pivotal role in building the organization to what it is today. We are sad to see her go, but we are all so proud of her accomplishments and wish her a big congratulations on her acceptance to Oxford.

The organization is in excellent shape and is well positioned to support this transition in leadership. We have a sound foundation to build on, great staff, a committed Board of Directors, and a clear plan for the future.

We are excited to embark on the next chapter of Food First NL, and see a very bright future for the organization. We are working with Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette to support our search for a new Chief Executive Officer.
